Palestinians in northern Gaza Strip launched a Qassam rocket Sunday morning towards western Negev. No one was injured.
Security forces are trying to locate the rocket's landing site.
Well, if there’s a bright side, at least these people (and I use the term loosely) firing these rockets aren’t terribly competent alot of the time.
What I’m waiting for is the headline “Palestinians Accidently Fire Rocket Into Own Territory”
They do that all the time, and run out Green Helmet Guy with a dead baby they keep in a freezer.
That’s a very good point, but all the same, I want to see the headline. Preferably in the NY Times.
They’ve actually done that a couple of times already.
Usually it’s when the wind blows it back at them, or the Qassam builder was more inept than usual and the rocket burns out way early.
They had that headline AND I MISSED IT????
Now I’m really bummed.
Oh, the NYT will never run it on their front rag.
But a couple of US Jewish papers *have*, and I LMAO when I saw them.
*sniff* I always miss the good stuff.
FYI, Qassams are particularly good at *not* going where they’re supposed to. Only about one in five actually goes in the direction it’s supposed to, and the rest either go off course or land way short inside Pali-Land. From AFP: http://www.astandforjustice.org/2005/11/11-07.htm
And that’s not counting the numbers of Qassams that explode on launch (i.e., take out the launching site all by themselves without going anywhere). This has made Qassam crewing a distinctly unpopular duty, and has lead to the use of remote launching systems (crew drives to an area, sets up the launcher, runs a couple of hundred feet away, hits the remote trigger, runs back after the thing hopefully launches, throws the gear in the back of the truck and flees the area before the Israeli counterbattery fire arrives.)
Ah, I did not know any of that. Thanks for the info, Spktyr.
“Security forces are trying to locate the rocket’s landing site”
The palestinians continuially look the buffooons.
Don’t fret, Olmert will give in to more of their demands.
That will stop them.
Olmert has already agreed and accepted that, months ago.
BTTT
I think Ralph Peter’s article pretty much sums things up:
