..........

MITRICK GETS BIG MONEY FROM BIG LIBERAL CONTRIBUTORS......

In what looks like a move to keep the information from the public, campaign finance information was turned in on Friday (the deadline) and printed in the less well-read Saturday newspaper.

In the York County Commissioner's race incumbent Lori Mitrick raised more than 80-thousand dollars including 10 thousand from Democrat liberals Tom and Frances Wolf, as well as 5-thousand from Louis Appell (registered GOP, but supporter of Ed Rendell).

Tom Wolf served and Louis Appell currently serves on the board of the Lancaster-York Heritage Region, the group planning to use the Kohr family land seized by eminent domain (Lauxmont Farms).

The other Republican incumbent Steve Chronister only picked up $7,850 in contributions.....

As I've noted before, the Republican political establishment wants to re-elect Mitrick and elect Reilly to the second spot, taking out Steve Chronister for opposing the land grab to benefit the Lancaster-York Heritage Region group headed by Congressman Todd Platts brother. Many leaders are hanging low, with a group headed by Congressman Platts supporting Mitrick, and others are in the open for Chris Reilly. The objective of the Jeff Joy, Dave Myers and Larry Guerreri candidacies is to split votes against eminent domain so Mitrick and Reilly can win.......

The second highest figure for contributions reported was the $27,700 given to incumbent Democrat commissioner Doug Kilgore. Kilgore provided the 2-1 majority supporting eminent domain at Lauxmont Farms. Kilgore got 10-thousand from Tom Wolf, 5-thousand from Louis Appell and 5-thousand from Art Glatfelter (a big Democrat contributor). All three are on have been on the board of the Lancaster-York Heritage Region board that is planning to use the land seized by eminent domain.

The issue of the land seizure at Lauxmont Farms in York County is hot.

The local GOP leaders are treading carefully on this situation, trying to re-elect the liberal incumbent commissioner who supports eminent domain (Mitrick) so she and Democrat incumbent Doug Kilgore can form a 2-1 majority for taking the land.

The other Republican incumbent (Chronister) who strongly opposes this eminent domain action is not being supported by any other GOP elected officials (he's blackballed) and many GOP leaders are supporting a former commissioner (Reilly) who is publicly opposed to the land grab, but his single vote won't change the situation of the land being taken.

A slick, skillful way of taking out conservative opposition by our local GOP establishment.

Republican incument Steve Chronister and newcomer Chuck Richards are the anti-GOP establishment, anti-eminent domain candidates.

The anti-eminent domain group (CAEDA) is also supporting Dems Ned Grove and Doug Hoke.

Don't forget (York County people) additional stories on my home page about various local races including some school boards, not to mention the income tax votes. I think its about time we got some heads up before we voted on local issues.

The libs say "think globally, act locally." We should do the same.

It should not matter to the voter how much the candidate spends.

Those who let a candidates spending influence their decisions are idiots.

The choice is simple, elect the man who supports property rights.
