Just found Emmett Tyrell being interviewed by Brian Lamb on Cspan. For old "Clinton haters" - going back to the Troopergate stories in American Spectator - this is a good interview. Though Brian Lamb keeps focusing on Tyrrell's and TAS demise - Tyrrell is worth watching.

Hope this runs awhile longer. Not sure of the length and hope there will be a replay.

Lamb focusing on traitors like David Brock who once wrote so eloquently for The American Spectator. I remember reading Brock's articles. They were spectacular.
Tyrrell says he has a policy not to speak about former employees. Tyrrell talking about a Grand Jury taking TAS - claiming that TAS transferred a lot amount of money to a witness to change his story.....never did it, of course.

Emmett Tyrell - Some of his stuff is good...other stuff is downright sublime.

I’m reading the book now. Bob points out a lot of interesting things about Bill Clinton since he left office. For one thing, he’s made a bundle of money. He’s an emotional wreck. He’s still scoring, but trying to be discrete so Hillary won’t get embarrassed. He’s obviously got some good sources.

Tyrrell saying Clinton is a restless, lonely man, trying to figure out why his legacy is impeachment...and he wants to be able to run again for President.
He talks about Clinoton making $43million since he left the Presidency / Clinton gave 2 speeches in HK - but only reported 1 of them.
Clinton commercialized the Presidency by continuing to make these trashy speeches all around the world...unlike Truman who retired (with low popularity numbers as Clinton did when he lft office)....but Truman refused to speak for fees.
The legacy is one of corruption, bullying (e.g. they bullied the American Spectator) and Americans don't like their bullying, they like fairplay.

The portion of the book on pardons alone is worth the price of it. Future historians who read this book will have half of their work done for them.

Oh - this is a book I'll have to get to add to my VRWC library....
Lamb just quoted from some story from the NY Times - Tyrrell said that story is just made up!
Tyrrell saying there is a place for small circulation magazines like his to generate ideas that the big fatuous media won't report...understatement.

Bob’s called Clinton “boy Clinton” for a long, long time.

I wish I’d caught it in the beginning. I’ve been friends with him (pen pals) for over 20 years. He’s quite a guy, a great conservative.

Yes he was talking a lot about the pardons - saying Clinton even admitted his pardon of Marc Rich was a mistake - a political mistake not a moral mistake - and yet Tyrrell said soon after saying that Clinton was in Europe and Marc Rich was there and they paired off into a hotel room to talk!!!
OH - it's over - ah but will be replayed at 11:00 PM. Good.
Brian Lamb did his job as water carrier for the Dems focusing TOTALLY on Tyrrell and his magazine's downturn instead of on the Clinton crimes.
To: saveliberty
It comes on again at 11:00 Eastern Time.

Looks like this replays at 11 pm Eastern.

I saw some of it. It was stupid where Lamb asked him how long he was going to keep it up, and Bob said it was up to the Lord.

Oh? How cool! Yes have admired him for back to the Troopergate acricles - maybe had heard of him before that - but really focused on TAS at that time.
This cspan program will be replayed at 11:00 PM tonight.

Old R.Emmett Junior wrote a hit piece that trashed Newt Gingrich last June and then in Feb2007 gave a nice account of Rooty Ghouliani.
Tyrrell’s best days are behind him.
