WHAT TO GIVE UP. . . AND WHAT LAND TO HOLD: ISRAEL'S TOUGHEST CHOICE
New York Post ^ | May 6, 2007 | Ralph Peters

EACH time I visit Israel, I come home more pro-Israeli - and more worried about Israel's future.

The nation has been a stunning success, as close to a miracle as humanity achieved over the last, horrid century. But Israel is also a victim of that success.

Built - like the United States - by the "old country's" rejects and outsiders, Israel's triumph is a slap in Europe's face. Europe was comfortable with its image of the Jew as a narrow-shouldered rabbinical student the local toughs could bully. But Europeans don't like Jews with muscles.

Thats my vote too. The land isnt what Israel’s enemies want. They want Israel gone. They want the Jews annhilated.

Giving up land is just a sign of weakness.

Take back Gaza.

The Jews have made a country out of nothing. If it is given up it will go back to nothing.

There is ample evidence. Look at what they did to Gaza. Look at what happened in South Africa. People who do not have a work ethic can inherit a Paradise ,only to watch it go back to desert.

In order for the State of Israel to exist in 50 years, the Jews who live there must do two things, neither of which has anything to do with land.

The first is, they must affirm their right to live there, and the correlative right to expel the non-Jewish population.

The second is, they must increase the rate of birth and immigration to fill up the land with military age males.

Ber. 12.

1. And the Lord had said to Abram, Get out from your country, and from your family, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you:
2. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:
3. And I will bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed:

If Israel listened to world opinion they wouldn’t exist. The “world” is only happy with Israel when it contributes to its own death. Every concession is met with temporary, tepid approval—followed by even more demands. See a pattern here? They were strongest when they were expanding—when they compromise, the sharks see the blood in the water. Any fool can see this—except for liberals and (apparently) the elected Israeli leadership.

Ezekiel 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

The obvious conclusion from the map below is Israel has too much land.

They will never have peace no matter how much land they give up - until they demonstrate that any attempt to attack Israel will end in humiliating defeat.

Currently, every attempt to attack Israel ends in appeasement, capitulation and more land seized from Israel - which means Israel will be attacked even MORE!

more land seized from Israel

When has Israel ever given up land that belonged to it? The only land being "given up" was seized from surrounding countries - it was never owned by Israel in the first place.

I agree with this part.

THERE'S no good solution to the region's problems. There may not even be any bad solutions that work. The failed civilization surrounding Israel may be hopeless - a possibility we pretend away because we cannot bear the implications.

Give up Gaza, hold the Heights and Jerusalem. And move the CAPITAL to the latter already for Moses’ Sake!

Put a line of bulldozers on the Gaza line. For every terrorist act the palesites engage in, move them forward 100 yards...

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and has been since the State of Israel was founded.

Perhaps you are confusing this with the issue of recognition of Jersalem as the capital by other countries. In particular, the US has long delayed moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Sounds like someone doesn't put too much stock in the Bible.

Hey, give the land back to the Canaanites. Weren't they, and not the Arabs, its "original" inhabitants? Oh, that's right--there aren't any Canaanites left! G-d told Israel to exterminate them!

Guess you'll be buying Mr. Hitchens' new book!

Yes, but aren’t most government offices still in Tel Aviv?
