Mixed feelings.

When it comes to his support of positive relation with the US, and support for the WOT, that is a major plus for me.

His economic record, overall is very good and I have no doubt that he will be an extremely progressive and hard working PM. He’s waiting for nearly 13 years, and I think he deserves his chance.

I’ve read alot of comments around here which paint an overly negative image of the man, and while technically a member of a ‘socialist party’ he was behind the creation of ‘new labour’ which moved the party away from the left, and is a strong believer in that continued path. The leadership contest that will follow will put him against a left winger, and he is likely to prevail by a significant margin. (thank goodness)

I’d very much like to back our Conservative Party, but without going into too much detail, I’ll just leave it at telling you they’re a complete mess.

Thanks for your take on it. I hope your perceptions are correct. It would be wonderful if we had Brown in UK and Sarkozy in France pushing away from the left. I’m optimistic that perhaps we may put on a more united front in the face of the rest of Europe and Muslim nations.
