More than half the shipyard workers were Wetbacks - yep, thats what they were called back then so dont give me any PC correction therapy.Ike kicked out the Wetbacks in 1954. Read about it here:

The focus of this bill was on workers in the yard. Much like the prevailing wage road building projects in Massachusetts that were discovered to have one-third illegals working there, there have been abuses at some government facilities. This bill aims to prevent that.
