China orders resettlement of thousands of Tibetans
McClatchy ^ | May 9 2007 | Tim Johnson

In a massive campaign that recalls the socialist engineering of an earlier era, the Chinese government has relocated some 250,000 Tibetans - nearly one-tenth of the population - from scattered rural hamlets to new "socialist villages," ordering them to build new housing largely at their own expense and without their consent.

Many people will die from starvation because of this resettlement.

The UN should be ashamed of itself.

Tibetan soil for agriculture is sparse and precious. They are being forced off it so Chinese settlers can take it.

This smells of forced deportations akin to Soviet farm collectivization. Earthly utopias generally turn into hells.

There is no shame in the UN. They will meet Gods judgment someday and wished they had done something different.

Well, it's OK as long as they are not JEWISH settlers.

To be honest, there's not much shame in the US other. The way US business and consumers is enabling with out economic support to China is absolutely disgraceful.

But hey, for cheaper widgets, it's a small price to pay, right?

Careful. FR is full of pimps and scoundrels who think doing business with these savages is "just good business." You'll know who they are, as they will be posting soon, making excuses for their Chinese masters.

Don’t forget to add the two idiotic ones I see all around ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan...’

“Your HATE Becomes You!”

“Co-Exist” (Each letter is a different religious symbol.)

Of course, they’re usually stuck to a POS beater that’s polluting their precious One World Order, and the rusty bumper is held on with rainbow gay stickers, LOL!

Proud to say I’m a Wal-Mart shopper. There’s not ONE single item that we buy there on a regular basis that’s “Made in China.” Anyone can read a product label.

I’ll be glad to post my shopping list for you, if you’d like, just to show others that it can be done. :)

Other than that, what’s your answer to Free Trade? Free Trade with anyone but China? Just curious, because I try to avoid foreign goods too and do the remainder of my shopping on the second-hand market. Granted, I’m sure we have some clothes or shoes that came from China, but I’m giving them one more “life” before they head to the landfill by buying second-hand. :)

Our cars are a Chevy S-10, a Dodge Ram Diesel and a Nissan Maxima, all 10+ years old. And paid for. :)

Didja ever notice on that co-exist sticker that the crescent looks like pac-man ready to gobble up the other symbols on the sticker?
