Now that, Dave, is the kind of thing we need more of. The opposition is FLOODING the districts of GOP seatholders in shaky locales. We should be doing exactly the same thing to those allegedly conservative Dems who didn’t deserve the seats they won in a year of GOP corruption scandals.

Everyone . . . find shaky districts and flood their local newspapers with letters to the editor and stories of how their Congress person voted FOR PELOSI AS SPEAKER, thereby condoning her policies.

Good letter.

The problem is that the RATS may not let any clean supplemental to the floor, Blue Dogs or no Blue Dogs. They control the Rules.

At some point the Administration had better play hardball and directly pin the blood of American soldiers on the Democrats in the House and Senate.

People might not like this war, but they will not support a slow-bleed of our troops. Time to call them out.

Partisans like to grab hold of guns or immigration as the red flag in this case, but I think the core issue is in modern Literary philosophy. I spent enough credits in the Lit department to realize how destructive post-modernism is, but not too long that a semester of economics couldn’t fix me.

What angers me is the complete lack of determination and fight from the Republican Administration, what more needs to be said that in this form of Government, our American voice is being heard and demostrated by those Representing us in Congress.
Some need to be educated as to what the role of the House of Representative is.

This war has political implications for a lot of people. Some dems are smart enough to see that precipitous withdrawal will have major consequences down the line both for the country and their careers. Being a cut and run democrat means they stab the military in the back. Bad career move. If there is any progress whatsoever then the republicans can use it against them.

"The president refuses to listen to the American people who want this war to end," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Nancy, you ignorant slut.

How do you just make a war "end?" We ALL want an end to the war. But, you can't just wish a war away on your own whim. It's not like some TV show, Nancy. Weren't you ever taught that patience is a virtue?

Shut up and go get another Botox treatment, Nancy, and let the American people get the job done. OK?

Pelosi is playing with fire.

Notice how Reid has been VERY low profile since his last gaffe about " We are losing the war!" and the subsequent first veto.

Reid does not have the same Mafia protection Nancy has.

Nancy is about to lose all of her hard won perks from the executive arm of government, and she may not know it yet, but she will soon be in need of very stringent security measures for her own preservation, as she continues to abuse her power.

Pelosi cannot speak for the " American People." She was not elected by them, and as she continues to encroach on Presidential power, her very life will be in jeopardy.

Betrayal of her oath of office to uphold and support the constitution will likely be her undoing. Treason is a nasty thing for a Speaker of the House to engage in, while simultaneously seeking protection under the Legislative Arm of government, which can protect her only so much, and now she is drawing close to the line, when it will no longer be able do so.

Keep pushing her President Bush! And may she step over that line or back down soon.

Either way Pelosi is history.

The Debate has started on the House Floor....

I actually have Fox News here, but I can't bear to watch.

The Dems and their flawed, slef-serving "logic" would cause a rise in blood pressure.

Just heard a firefight nearby which ended about about half an hour ago, complete with lots of gunfire and the subsequent air cover, followed by more gunfire. No blood pressure rise there, though....I'm kind of used to all of that.

But...'Nuff excitement for the night. LOL

At some point the Administration had better play hardball and directly pin the blood of American soldiers on the Democrats in the House and Senate.

I wish they had been doing it since the attack against Pres. Bush began when he landed on the carrier. They could not tolerate the nation seeing that the man they had depicted as a blundering dope was actually a savvy, bold fighter jet pilot. Both the dems and the DBM had to go into full attack mode from which they have never relented. Extending the war in Iraq is nothing to them compared to Bush have any success whatever.

His biggest flaw is in not defending himself and his positions. Hopefully, his rapid rebuttal of what the Gov. in Kansas said is the beginning of a new strategy against lies.

It is close to the edge. Pelosi is close to the edge and the nation is on the verge of a constitutional crisis which can only be remedied by executive action.

Sometimes I think that Pelosi may not understand that the executive arm of government cannot function with a treasonous speaker of the house.

That is why the president is elected by the people. Pelosi was not. Our president has done nothing but exercise his constitutional veto. Pelosi exceeds her authority by attempted legislative usurpation, and then what will she do when that does not work. Civil war? The executive will stop her.

If she begins advocating her own security hired from the private sector, and armed , then we know that there is the intention of a coupe. So far she has kept her civilian soldiers under cover, but you can bet that they are there, or else she would not be engaging in coupe style politics and endangering the security of the nation.

Pelosi has taken things far beyond what is civilized government, and is in danger of executive arrest. All she needs to commit is one very large faux pas, and she may be stupid enough to do it, or to instruct others to do it, and then she will be as cooked as the proverbial goose.

You have to remember that Pelosi is the spearpoint for a radical leftist movement in her party ,which at this time is calling the shots in the Dem part, and she intends to win by ANY means she can. That is not the Republican form of government operating as it was designed, and actually there is a break down in the government, when all do not work for the common good of the nation. She has divided the nation and incites the people through propagada, untruths and vicarious hate speech about the president.

The warning: " Stop playing politics and fund the troops."

It gets no plainer than that.

Take care Allegra. Things will be heating up here also, but hopefully we will have no fire fights in Washington as everyone is now talking constitutional crisis, through no fault of the president's, I might add.

Motion for Recommittal made by house Republicans, adding 2 additional conditions allowing our troops to stay in Iraq indefinitely.

This was presented 5 minutes from the end of the debate.

Republicans are resisting the time table ( a constitutional usurpation of presidential authority.)

Some definite interesting twists are coming about. It would be a real blast if Pelosi/Reid/Murtha et all, find themselves out in the cold looking in shortly.

It is proper that some Republicans inform the President of their constituents’ concerns - that is part of the reason they’re there.

And it is proper that the President hear these concerns.

There’s an old oriental adage that a bamboo stalk incapable of flexing will break off in a gale.

Flexing does not mean it will change one bit from its upright position.
