WASHINGTON - Federal revenue collections hit an all-time high in April, contributing to a further improvement in the budget deficit for the year.

The article made sure to say the improvement is “only temporary.” Don’t remember hearing that when the deficit hit zero temporarily during Clinton’s second term. Clinton got the credit for that deficit reduction, which was brought about by a Republican congress.
