A lot of other countries in the world aren’t mentioned either. They simply don’t have a significant part in those events, or not a part worth mentioning anyway. They’re covered — in passing — in the understanding that they are “all the nations” and just come under that category. Those others who are mentioned have a significant and direct part. If the U.S. does have any significant part, it may be subsumed under another greater authority, which actually exclipses the authority the U.S. has today.
It doesn’t mean that the U.S. has disappeared or has ceased to function, however, as some people try to say...

Certain verses such as Isaiah 49:1 have been construed to refer to the USA.

I have a hunch that your knowledge of Biblical Eschatology is not comprehensive, and that is not intended as an insult, just an observation.
I didn’t say that it was but factually we the U.S. are the only nation that truly supports Israel in current times.
Zech 14:2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped.
The key word in this is ALL we are a nation and when we turn on Israel and fight against it will fulfill the prophecy.
So in fact Mr. Jimmy Carter is attempting to make the U.S. turn against our friend Israel.
