I'm pretty sure they do mention Mormons. I recall the oldest daughter and a friend specifically mentioning being a Mormon.

I love the show and can't wait for the new season to begin. Still trying to decide if the show is a backhanded slap at Mormonism or drama-based satire.

Big Love is currently the best acted, written, directed and produced show on TV. The new season starts June 11 — can’t wait.
