The ineptitude of Hannity was very much in evidence. You don’t really expect much from Colmes, but Sean was a big letdown. He is very ponderous in debates and tends to repeat himself like a big blowhard. I think Sharpton just did what most liberals do in debate situations, just talk louder than the other guy, interrupt a lot, never stop talking and above all, depend on there being gutless, ineffectual “moderaters” conducting the proceedings.

Thats not good.

A lot of Christians could very well become atheists after that.

For several years, I used to watch Imus every morning. If anyone else had said some of the things Imus said, I might have stopped tuning in to his/her program. But as Bernard McGuirk said, the comments made by Imus were in the context of satire. (i.e “Just kidding!”)

Sharpton, on the other hand, was not “just kidding” when he said some of the things he said.

In terms of the Imus brand of humor, right or wrong, nobody got a pass with Imus & Co. - not even Imus’ own wife!

I am a Roman Catholic. However, I was able to appreciate the fact that Bernard McGuirk’s “Cardinal Egan” skit cum FedEx hat was satire.

While I will admit that there were times when I thought that Imus was behaving like a jerk, I would have regarded his recent controversial comments as being beyond the pale ONLY if he hadn’t been making similar comments about his own wife (i.e. “green ho”) and everyone else.

Bernard was spot on tonight. Sharpton is looking for an additional fifteen minutes of fame! Bernard also said (rightly) that if blacks were exempted from Imus humor, THAT would have been racist!

I have had enough.

It is time for people who actually care about speech and who controls it to stand up.

You thought Imus was a liberal hack, fine.

You thought JV & Elvis were juvenile, fine.

You think Opie and Anthony are purile and not funny, fine.

Just wait until Sean, Beck, Boortz, or Rush have a screw up.

Me, I am not waiting. We need every one who cares about speech that is not PC and liberal to stand up. That means the religious right and the South Park fans here need to come together. Please join me and a bunch of others at:

Sharapton is a racist bigot with a big mouth and a history of getting people killed by his incitement.

Unfortunately, nobody made the most salient point about Sharptongue and his hypocrisy.

Sharptongue made a biogoted smear remark about Romney and issued a non-apology apology, and he thinks that we should all just accept that and move on. Well, if so, then why did he lead the crusade to get Imus fired for something he said? The standard that “Reverend” Al demands for himself is presicely the opposite of the standard he applies tro Imus.

I heard one attempt to bring up the Romney / Mormon matter. Sharpton did a rope a dope. Said he was going to have a meeting with the poobahs, etc.

That makes it all OK, doncha know?

I was disappointed (but not surprised) in Hannity. Bernie could have taken the hustler apart. Sharpton's opening response to Bernie's points was to deflect it as "name calling." That was the very point that a good moderator steps in and gets control and calls for an answer.

Hannity was, as often happens, in way over his head.

McGurk was prepared... the AMATURE Hannity wasted all of McGurk's preparation. McGurk couldn't spout 10 word before the Fat, big mouthed, "Reverend" took over... I was HIS show.

If you put a clock on each individual it would break down this way:

Colmes 3%
Hannity 8%
McGurk 8.5%
The "Reverend" Sharpton 80.5%

I watch and much prefer Glenn Beck... H&C is a pathetic Amaturish enterprise.

Just noted your sign on date. Glad to have an older guy than me along for the ride. Love your profile page quotes as well.

Thanks... actually I started about 3 or 4 months earlier than that date... When Jim reformatted he either slipped up or lost the records.

When I started you could read every post and every reply in about 15 minites.

There we have it. I do wish Bernie had used the last five minutes to walk out. Those numbers prove that was his best option, since he was not allowed to speak.

I’m glad that ridiculous groveling was bugging someone else! I was half expecting Hannity to bow down and kiss sharpton’s feet every time he dared to interrupt the old race baiter.
