It probably helps to know which gunshots are the good guys and which are the bad guys. Ditto on the color of the tracers.

I suspect any improvement in shooting when they switch from AK to AR will because of the US issued optics or commercial-off-the-shelf optics they are mounting on their weapons over there.

The US Military learned that magnified optical gunsights and NVG were huge force multipliers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The M4 is an M16 in carbine form (14.5" barrel) with a collapsing stock, the carry handle on top replaced with a Picatinny rail (usually - older versions don't have this, current production does), and a two- or three-rail fore-end for accessories. It's a later development of the old CAR-15.

My son owes his hide to the limitations of the AK-47, having live through an ambush with unfrienleies armed with them.

Thanks for the pix! They were great. I was a patrol dog handler and carried the “GAU” madel in the early 70s. Looked like the older M4
