Arlington , VA The GI Film Festival, which will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28, 2007 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington , DC , announced today that award-winning actor and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. R. Lee Ermey has joined the festival line-up. Ermey will appear in the festivals kick-off event Friday night, May 25, and also participate in the festivals War Stories panel discussion on Saturday afternoon, May 26.
A Golden Globe nominee and Boston Society of Film Critics Award Winner for Best Supporting Actor in director, Stanley Kubricks Full Metal Jacket, R. Lee Ermey is one of the most successful and talented actors in film and television today.
His numerous roles in feature film include: Switchback, starring opposite Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover, Dead Man Walking, Seven, Leaving Las Vegas, Murder In The First, Life, The Frighteners and Sommersby as well as his critically acclaimed role opposite Jared Leto in Prefontaine. He continues doing numerous voice over roles which span from The Simpsons to Toy Story(1 and 2).
Lee currently hosts his own show for the History Channel, called Mail Call, which focuses on military technology past, present and future, and is now entering its eighth season.
In addition to his distinguished career in acting, Ermey served 11 years active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. He rose to the rank of staff NCO, served two years as a drill instructor and a tour of duty in Vietnam .

I particularly liked when he was at the Kentucky Machine Gun Shoot. It was because of that show I want to go there.
