HOUSTON - Rudy Giuliani directly challenged Republican Party orthodoxy on Friday, asserting that his support for abortion rights, gun control and gay rights should not disqualify him from winning the party's presidential nomination. He asserted that Republicans need to be tolerant of dissenting views on those issues if they want to hold the White House.

"When people hear Rudy Giuliani speak about taxpayer funded abortions, gay 'rights' and gun control, they don't hear a choice, they hear an echo of Hillary Clinton," Perkins wrote.

"The mayor's position on abortion couldn't be more repugnant to pro-lifers" said Richard Land, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. "It shows a moral obtuseness that is stunning."

Shoot - I forgot to ‘tick’ the ‘excerpt’ button. There’s more to read at the link. Sorry about that.
In related news, beloved Rankin-Bass holiday character HERMIE THE ELF likewise asserted that his stumpy little legs and comically diminutive stature overall "should not disqualify [him] from winning the regular position of power forward for the Boston Celtics."
Rudys for gun control, illegals, abortion, gays and I’m against each of these of his views.
Should that disqualify him for my vote? You betch it does.
And then he’s going to take ezception? I’m sure that will change MY beliefs.
“When people hear Rudy Giuliani speak about taxpayer funded abortions, gay ‘rights’ and gun control, they don’t hear a choice, they hear an echo of Hillary Clinton,”
The msm’s dream election, two New York liberals running for office on the Dem and GOP tickets. They can’t lose an election like that.
Conservatives need to tell Rudy to go back to NYC with his GAG
(guns, abortion, gays) ideas.
“He asserted that Republicans need to be tolerant of dissenting views on those issues if they want to hold the White House”
Dissenting views???
No, it shouldn’t disqualify him from running in the primary. It does, however, disqualify him from getting my vote in the primary.
That is fair. Since I vote in SoCal, I will vote for him and see just how the others oppose him. Especially in Ca., Hil is supposed to be so strong. The Dems will be trying to prove something; that they really control Ca. dispite Arnold’s influence. It will not surprise me to see Arnold endorse Rudy.
