It may be “rude” but it’s the first question everyone has about spacesuits. At least he wasn’t afraid to ask.
Do you know how many protocol advisors the Brits sent over to prevent any of the non-royal masses the Queen and Consort were forced to mingle amongst from asking them a question like that? I never thought I’d be in a postion to defend Nancy Pelosi, but the MSM made a big deal over her uncouth “gaffe” at sticking her hand out to shake the Queen’s hand, before her “royal” high-and-mightiness had offered her had to be shaken. What BS! Pelosi acted like a friendly, forthright American over whom no mortal being is sovereign (no matter how deluded they are about their bloodline being superior to anyone else’s). I think the point of this post is that the Queen and her husband think they are better than us, and he ends up asking the most hackneyed, obvious question there is - which proves they are no better than us.
Also, that’s probably the most dignified version of that particular question I’ve ever heard. :p
I cannot imagine that in this world, most people would ask the question.
But, the privleged classes in the world never bother with contemplating the more mundane things in life. Rememember When President George Bush went to a grocery and was amazed to see the electronic scanners at the cashier counters? He probably hadn’t been in a grocery store for decades.
The way that royal life works is simple. There is a cadre of men that work for the Queen and her family, telling them what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. I’m sure in the beginning, everyone is grateful for this type of instruction. With time, it all becomes second nature.
Of course the prince had a limited understanding about this subject. The fact that he asked it may be in poor taste.
And yet, his mother-in-law, the Queen Mother, dispensed with all protocal in her life. She said and did things that no other Royal would do. She felt she had earned the position and no one would ever question her, the Queen.
