I take it that you rest your case. We’ll let the “jury” decide then.

Governmental lethargy r/e the OST and so many other conservative issues is being remembered more than some would like:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/story?id=3171298&page=1

“A Newsweek poll has every Democratic front-runner beating every leading Republican: Clinton edges out former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani by three points. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards beats Arizona Sen. John McCain by 10 points, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 37. Illinois Sen. Barack Obama prevails over McCain by 13 points.”

What can we do in our nonresponsive mere 2 political party governmental system? My guess is to simply go out there and make the issue politically “live” again. It’s not cheap doing so though...

The Ds are even less likely to be interested in repealing the Treaty and establishing private property rights in outer space. That’s pretty safe to say. The Rs are not likely to actually do anything. Reagan was different in that respect: he actually made executive decisions of a surprising nature when he saw it was a good thing to do.

The only case I have is why the frankly bizarre jihad against NASA?

So much so someone actually selects an anti shuttle nic?

It’s a damn odd place to start railing against government.

And I frankly have far more serious questions.

Who owns the domain spaceprojects.com???

DO they own any other simliar politically oriented domains?

What is there line of business outside of paying for web domains?

Are they lobbyists or associated with lobbyists of any kind whatsoever?

Is there any connection to any political party, industry, or any other self agenda driven purpose?

So before we start talking about let the “jury” decide.

Who are the players?

I am just a working class tech and private pilot in love with space exploration since a child, yeah I am a member of NSS and planatary society, contribute to Challenger center. I support NASA, yeah, I know they aint perfect, but pretty much do what they can with what they are given and deal with the constant whims of politicians. I am not against gubmint doing the work they do.

Now who the hell is spaceprojects.com????

You say:

“I am not against gubmint doing the work they do.”

In response, with all due respect, I believe that we differ philosophically very profoundly. I also doubt I can persuade you to shed your childhood-originated views of NASA. I don’t mean that to sound derogatory or else I’d have said “childish”.

As for SpaceProjects.com, I am not aware that it’s anything more than some folks’ attempt to get the truth out despite media sellouts who profit by doing otherwise:

http://www.spaceprojects.com/news

If you ever come across a site anything like it, I’d be interested in checking it out. Until then, SpaceProjects.com is the one to cite to, I guess. It’s part of the solution, while many people remain part of the problem...

Problem is there are all his attributes in the GOP, but none have all of them together. Dubya certainly has the decision power and has used it by restarting NASA and stopping use of Federal stem cells, and of course the GO decision on Iraq and the Surge and the recent veto of the unreal supplemental bill, but he doesn’t have Reagan’s stage presence. If we could somehow roll half a dozen of the current crop of candidates into one we might get something like another Reagan.

Some advice.

How your comments are interpreted....

Saying NASA has made no breakthroughs when we have wheels rolling on Mars is unwise.

Saying that astronauts opinions are not to be taken seriously because of one incident from one person is unwise.

To call America’s manned heavy lift current access to space a “pet project” is unwise.

I could go on.

There are far better ways to communicate your points without that kind of over the top commentary.

Your not winning any converts with any of that tone.

Can you understand why?

Are not people like myself the target audience?

NASA attempts to reach out as in this Excavation Challenge, this is surely a positive move in the right direction.
And it is outright ridiculed and insulted?

Childish indeed.

Bigalow aerospace and NASA work together. So those things do and are happening.

What I most like about Reagan is how he pulled himself up by his own bootstraps after his I believe he said drunken father walked out on him and his family while he was a kid. He remembered how hard it is to “make it” amidst so many regulations, taxes & bureaucrats and when he moved into the White House he didn’t forget... 50% of the population lived on the federal dole at the time of his entry but he shaved that considerably. It’s back up to 50% again nowadays though. It’s as if the “leaders” in our plutocracy don’t want others to reach their status in any way.

Although I haven’t had time to read each post (or even a fraction of them) this directly relevant Slashdot thread is pretty good:
