Haagen-Dazs treats guests to concert in bed to promote new ice cream
People relax on beds and listen to music while tasting ice cream during the event in Tokyo. |
About 80 people relaxed on expensive beds to enjoy a classical music concert and ice cream promotion event organized by Haagen-Dazs Japan at Laforet Harajuku's museum in downtown Tokyo. The major ice cream company held the event on May 8 to celebrate its new product, "Dolce." Guests relaxed on expensive beds -- that costs about 330,000 yen each -- while listening to classical music performed by internationally known violinist Mariko Senju. (Mainichi) |

As you can see in the picture, most of them are women. You should not rule out that in their next promotion, they will feature doghouses and ask women to bring their dogs to taste new Haagen-Dazs icecream tailored exclusively for canines.

Certainly Japan has come a long way from pitiful, shoeless peddlers under the railroad tracks at Yurakucho Station selling cheap paper fans to drunk American GIs.
Talk about people having a lot of free time on their hands!

Talk about people having a lot of free time on their hands! You pull the words from mouth literally. It was the first phrase which popped up in my mind.:-)

Didn’t John & Yoko do something similar back in the ‘60s?

Guests relaxed on expensive beds -- that costs about 330,000 yen each -- while listening to classical music... Finally, I can sleep comfortably during a classic music concert. Excellent!

Knowing Japan as I do , the women in the beds are wives of company Execs at Haagen-Dazs Japan , hence their having “ free time “ .
