Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad led a raucous anti-American rally in the United Arab Emirates a day after a low-key visit by US Vice President Dick Cheney there in an attempt to counter Tehran's influence in the region.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a cheering Dubai crowd Sunday that America was to blame for creating instability and robbing the region of its wealth. ''Every time your name is mentioned, hatred builds up,'' Ahmadinejad said of the United States to a crowd of thousands, mostly Iranian expatriates. ''Go fix yourself. This is Iran's advice to you. Leave the region... The nations of the region can no longer take you forcing yourself on them.''
“Ahmadinejad said of the United States to a crowd of thousands, mostly Iranian expatriates.”
This makes sense, a crowd packed with fellow Iranians, as I highly doubt Arab Sunnis are going to cheer a Persian Shia. The Arab countries of the Persian Gulf region hate (most notably Saudi Arabia), despise and distrust Tehran, and with very good reason.
So, what does it say that you have to go abroad to speak to your countrymen?
I think it is a toss up.
LLS
I got it.
An Islamic Democrat.
You know the next time this guy flies in to talk to the UN they’ll have the security forces go on and meet him at the airport just like it were Margaret Thatcher coming to speak.
In some respects I always like to say that we get what we deserve, however in this case it’s a little difficult estimating what it is that we may “get” from this nut.
President Imanutjob is at least looking out for the interests of his theocracy.
Democrats are selling our national security down the river to score political points against a lame duck president.
As Quinn of the Quinn and Rose radio show says, “These Islamic idiots are telling us exactly what they are going to do to us. Now is just a matter on when we will wake up.”
When you reach the end of both goals, we are still at the same point. America is screwed.
That;s why we have aircraft carriers in the Gulf. fear of Iran in Gulf states. They are also buying military hardware and having joint manuvers to protect themselves. They know Iran has infiltrated.
He definitely knows how to play politics.
Well, unfortunately, they don’t have exclusie rights to “idiocy”,...we have a growing majority in the legislative branch of our government that would like to tell them when we plan to surrender.

The President of Iran doesn't visit without the knowledge and permission of the government, nor without knowledge of the purpose of his visit.
Maybe they're still mad about the rejection of the ports deal by the citizenry (looking smarter every day).
If we privatize airport security, and sell it to the UAE, maybe they'll feel better.

Outstanding cartoon!
Recall that BJ Clinton has given many speeches in Dubai for huge renumeration, including a handsome sum for his presidential library.
I suppose though that the rulers and people of Dubai would rather listen to a speech from Ahmadinejad than one from Clinton.
BTW, one of the reasons why Holocaust denier Ahmadinejad must like Dubai is because no Jews are allowed in, not even to visit.
