The terrorist website is saying that Mullah Bakr (37 years old) will be the new military commander of Taliban and that he is the brother of Mullah Dada Allah who died at the age of 40. According to the terrorist website Mullah Bakr was released from prison in a swape operation with an Italian journalist. Also the terrorist websote goes on to praise Mullah Dada Allah as a someone who fought the Americans and refused to surrender to them in November 2001 when the province of Knaduz was under siege. They also say that Mullah Dada Allah was the only Taliban commander who appears in the media.

Mullah Bakr? Jeez, I hope Tammy Faye never finds out.

It was a huge mistake to release this terrorist Mullah Bakr in exchange with an Italian journalist taken hostage by the Taliban. The terrorist website said the exchange of prisoners occurred 2 months ago.

This is the story of the Italian journalist who was kidnapped by Taliban and released in Afghanistan 2 months ago. The article of course does not mention that the journalist was released in exchange of releasing terrorist Mullah Bakr.

He was born in Karachi, Pakistan, where his father was an engineer. He holds dual Italian-Swiss citizenship.
This strikes me as odd.

One of the terrorists who was released in exchange for the Italian journalists was killed recently.
Key Taliban commanders killed in Herat operation
I agree that they shouldn't have been released. But I wonder if it would have been possible to implant some sort of tracking device inside the terrorists before releasing them? Some sort of ruse would have to be invented to perform the procedure without their knowledge.

“He holds dual Italian-Swiss citizenship.”
Probably doesn’t want to pay those high Italian taxes.
As for his new position, TF-145 says: Next!

I hope that they did just that, i.e. implant a tracking device somewhere inside the terrorist. I also wonder who was in custody of terrorist Mullah Bakr. Was it Nato or the Afghani forces?
