At ages 7 and 5 my little brother and I got caught putting .22 short rifle cartridges in a nail hole in a board (to hold ‘em) and whacking ‘em with a rock. The sitter beat the tar out of us, our mother tanned our rears when she got home from school and Dad finished the process at 5 pm after work. It wasn’t safe to come within arms length of any relative for at least a week afterwards, we felt like they were driving in from the next county to beat us! After that we got smart and pulled the rounds apart with pliers to make whizbangs out of the powder.
At 18 you’d think he would have had more sense knocked into him by now.
