Spanish language channels have prime time soap operas that feature almost all-white casts. The only non-white roles are drug dealers or house maids. The talk shows are all hosted by white women. There are no dark skinned hosts. The newscasts are anchored by white men and women. The street reporters are almost all white. I once saw a variety show on Telemundo that had a band singing a song with the lyrics, “Black man. You think you’re cool but you’re ugly. You look like a monkey.” George Lopez should clean up his own house before criticizing ours.

Ah yes, a bad comic plays the race card when nobody laughs at his tired attempt at comedy. How predictable. Hey George, maybe they will better appreciate you in Mexico?
To: kik5150
That’s funny fifty years ago Mexicans were demanding to be classified as white. Most amusing to me is that many of them have the same racial status that I do, which is mixed blood “Amerindian.”

How many shows are on the air now? Surely one show cannot tip the balance that greatly.
To: kik5150
I liked the show but haven’t kept up with it for a few years. I remember one episode where George was promoted because he was a minority and he told the boss to go Fxxx himself and that he would accept a promotion only if he deserved it. It was a great script and I was happy, and surprised, when it aired. Although Lopez is a lefty, his show has had some conservative themes running through it at times. That being said, he knows the bottom line is ratings and after so many years on air, if the show isn't bringing in the viewers, it goes on the chopping block.

As a white person, I think I should play the sensitivity role and get offended by that.

Another show that I happen to like and yes it is a chick show is “Ugly Betty”. The show centers around a young Hispanic girl.

Dear George:
Sorry to hear the sad news regarding your show. I just want you to know that since its debut, I have never missed your show.
Just to make things clear, I have never seen it, which is why I don't miss it!
Best Regards,
A TV Fan

I didn’t know that George Lopez was just another anti-White racist. I guess I’m glad his show got cancelled.

Aw, George. Rather than understand you were not making money for the production, you used the race card. Well, glean all the sweet times of the past years, and ditch the sour grapes, for your own sake.

I tried to watch the show more than once. It was NOT funny.

Same here. I am not a sit-com watcher, but I had seen his stand-up a few times. What I saw was very funny and not smutty, so I tuned in to his show. Big disappointment.

Agreed. As a matter of fact, whenever I am asked for “race” on a form, I check “other” and write in “human”.

I never watched the show. Then one night I turned it on. Before the first commercial came on, my wife couldn’t stand it any longer - she left the room. I watched the rest of the show and didn’t so much as crack a smile (I think it was suppose to be a comedy). I tried watching it one more time, the following week. That was enough for me. Never watched it again.

George Lopez, the first Latino to lead a television series successfully, isn't laughing. Doesn't 'Chico and the Man' count?
