Pakistan needs to make such statements to bolster that elusive "unity" and "brotherhood" of Islam, that they, and the rest of the nutter-clan club have failed to win. Bangladesh (a.k.a formerly East Pakistan) was just the beginning.
Pakistan, as a single entity, if things go as they are, won't exist beyond five more decades.

Pakistani “peacekeepers” did such a bang-up job in Mogadishu, why not try it again?
The U.N. pays $1,100 USD per month per “peacekeeper”, and that goes to the Army, not to the Pakistani general fund. Pakistani soldiers are paid less than $400 per month.
