Origins: On 6 January 2007, Knoxville, Tennessee, residents Christopher Newsom, Jr., 23, and Channon Christian, 21, went out for a dinner date at a local restaurant, then headed to a friend's house to watch a movie. They never came back.
When the couple had failed to return by the following morning, their parents notified police. Christopher Newsom's body was found near some railroad tracks in East Knoxville that afternoon, but Channon Christian remained missing. A trace run on Channon's cell phone helped authorities locate her abandoned vehicle the next day, and fingerprints raised from an envelope inside the automobile led police to the residence of 25-year-old Lemaricus Devall "Slim" Davidson, where they discovered Channon's body wrapped in a blanket.
The details of the crime as they emerged in the press were horrific. Carjackers had taken Channon's vehicle at gunpoint, bound and blindfolded the couple, and transported them to Davidson's residence. At that location, Christopher was raped (in front of Channon) by multiple assailants. His private was cut off, he was shot multiple times, his body was set on fire, and, finally, his corpse was taken away and dumped alongside railroad tracks.

were the killers part of a protected class?
It is disgusting isn’t it? I can barely read the details, it is that horrific.
Many have claimed this is proof of a race-based bias in our media where black-on-white, even when horrific, is not reported or considered as terrible as the reverse.
The media rushed to cover the Duke Lacrosse case, but have ignored this, for instance.
One other factor may simply be that this is so horrible it is actually sickening to talk about or listen to the deatils of.
There won’t be any.
So what is the problem, it is a black on white crime and that makes it ok.
And some argue there shouldn’t be a death penalty!
The filthy animals that commited this horror don’t deserve a trial or another breath of air.

I just wonder where is Nancy Grace? The show I was listening to is called the Ed Norris show and he mentioned that he heard something about this story but did not believe it due to the lack of media coverage. He stated it seems like it is a cover up because about 1/2 of the links he tried on the web to get information regarding this murder don’t work. I am just shocked that there was no media coverage regarding such a terrible crime. How in the world do you get 5 people together that would be willing to go along with any of this ?
