I don’t know, but the Marxist termites in Congress are always happy to give the thumbs-up to similar-minded midgets and other lower-life forms.

We have a Commander in Chief, Secretary of Defense, Secretaries of each service, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chief of Staff for each service and Field Commanders all engaged in managing what now are police actions and Bush needs a 'War Czar' to oversee the Iraq & Afghanistan conflicts?

How in the world did we ever win WW II against Japan, Germany & Italy that was a full fledged war from beginning to end without a 'War Czar'???

When the idea was floated the first time it was ridiculed so much the President just got his hackles up and went ahead anyway.

It’s a stupid idea. The military bureaucracy is way too top heavy now.

Thank you. You are correct.

“Well, unlike Gen Petraius, hopefully this guy has some combat experience.”

Gen Petraeus (Then MG Petraeus) led the 101st into combat on the first push into Baghdad.

“How in the world did we ever win WW II against Japan, Germany & Italy that was a full fledged war from beginning to end without a ‘War Czar’?”

I know you’re just being facetious, but it helped greatly to have MEN such as...

General Omar Bradley
General (President) Eisenhower
General MacArthur
General Patton
General Chesty Puller
Admiral Nimitz
The Tuskegee Airmen

...on our side; warts and all, during that time in History.

Also, America was united against Hitler, and we also had the likes of Bob Hope (and Pin-Up Girls of all shapes & sizes) spreading PATRIOTISM around the globe visiting our troops, and selfless WOMEN such as the 150,000 that served in the Women’s Army Corps during that time as well. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of women that picked up the slack here on the Home Front while our men were away. :)

Now, all we have are a bunch of lazy Hippies and Leftists nipping at our heels and a traitorous MSM that won’t know a “terrorist” or call one by NAME until their own HQs buildings are bombed to the ground ala 9/11.

And today’s celebrities? Role models and Cheerleaders for America and her interests? Nope. just the opposite. :(

I honestly don’t think America will ever be “allowed” to actually FIGHT and WIN a war ever again. Nothing against our military; I’m retired Army, but we’re so tied up in knots these days by the ‘PC Police’ it’s sickening!

Interesting, weren’t we told not too long ago that this story was a fabrication by the media?

The confirmation hearing will be interesting.

If things were going well in Iraq, this idea would never have been floated.

It sort of reminds me of when an Airline gets in financial trouble or has a high profile crash. The first thing they do is come up with a new paint scheme.
