Senate Democrats and Republicans are working feverishly with the White House to put the finishing touches on an immigration proposal that could be announced later today or tomorrow. The deal would give illegal aliens living in the United States amnesty, according to confidential sources. It would also allow illegal aliens to bring their parents, spouses and children into the United States.

Yeah, umm, how about No!???

We have a prison in Texas for illegal immigrant families - something like 200+ kids plus another 200 or so adults, and we could use quite a few more that would hold Mexican nationals on their way out (our current prison is for non-Mexican families and children).

You have to give Bush credit - when he started touting illegal immigrants as "guest workers" and started talking about changing the laws so that they wouldn't be illegal, he must have known that the Democrats would be coming to power and give him everything he wants.

From the headline, I thought it meant parents, spouses, and children who are already here. That would be bad enough. Bringing in whole families? Aging parents?

Illegal immigration was a huge reason we lost. They can blame it on the war, on Bush, on whatever they want, but illegal immigration is a HUGE part of it.

And once these tens of millions of people become legal citizens the left will own this country. ....something the GOP establishment evidently has a tough time comprehending. Their belief that the votes of these newbies (many of whom are already addicted to welfare freebees -- natural Democrat constituents) will register GOP out of gratitude is dangerously delusional. To successfully adapt to this post-amnesty state of electoral affairs the GOP will have to surge far to the left to compete, and the entire political spectrum will consequently surge leftward as well.

I am most troubled by the fact that so many do not realize this is a done deal. Both parties elites have sold us out. Now you get to work harder and make less to support all the freebie mexican amnesty created Americans.

Nothing can stop it short of a fight generated by Americans. Its too late to talk, it is just a fact that will happen very soon in order to ditch the issue before the elections. It may make no difference who we vote for, the Mexicans will decide our fate very soon.

My best guess, we will get a false promise of border security that will go unenforced.

This continuing U.S. “Invasion” is literally destroying the entire country! How are all of the politicians who support and “get away with” doing this legislation also not breaking their Oaths of Office to protect and defend this country as well as its Constitution? How can this situation be successfully and finally “turned around” and resolved so that everyone here will truly abide by all of the country’s laws from now on without any favoritism towards anyone here illegally? The thing is that once they become legal citizens they won't be cheap labor anymore -- they'll join unions and vote Democrat. So if all the GOP wants is cheap labor for their big donors they'd be far better served keeping the status quo -- open borders and illegal aliens. Amensty will be the end of the GOP.

I agree totally with you view but would go further and say that Bush/Rove/RNC actually wanted a democrat controlled congress so that Bush would have his legacy making legislation. The RNC ran a rotten campaign in '06 and so far have been staying silent and I think it is on purpose. Bush will get his legacy and the nation will pay for generations to come.

I disagree. I think they do know but they just don't care. Their pockets are lined with cash and favors and we mean nothing to our government. We are a paycheck to them and that's it.

If we really wanted to make a statement we would ALL have to stop going to work at the same time, without pay. Yes a labor strike. They live on our money that they take. I wish we'd all just stop. They couldn't replace us that quick. /dreaming.
