I don't know what Fred Thompson's position is on immigration. He hasn't thrown his hat in the ring. I like Hunter's position on illegal immigration, but he needs to say more about what he will do to change legal immigration policies. Generally, I see Thompson as having a leg up on Hunter in terms of electability, mainly due to name recognition and personality.
If amnesty is defeated, who on the horizon would you choose to be the next president of the United States?
I am still on the fence. The most impressive so far from the two debates has been Romney. He is the most articulate and charismatic. I just question his conservative credentials. I like Hunter who has a real record and substantive knowledge about national security, trade and immigration issues. The only real question is about electability and a hint of some alleged personal scandal about his home. I want to know more about that. We still have plenty of time to learn more about the candidates and their positions on the issues.
>...electability, mainly due to name recognition and personality.<
And look where GWB’s name recognition and personality has gotten us! Not 10-15 million, but 35-70 million illegal immigrants wanting to take over the country! Both GWB and Thompson are Globalists.
Name recognition and personality? Give me substantive content every time. Give me Duncan Hunter.
>alleged scandal about his home?<
You are a dangerous person with your innuendo. If you know something, spill it or chill it!
Should you want to do something FOR your country, check out my post #79.
wants to build the fence
wants to "make it impossible" for an illegal to find a job up here
BUT has a weak voting record on immigration issues and thinks detaining and repatriating the illegals who are already here is "unrealistic."
Won't get my vote.
Tancredo is the only one so far who looks like he might be willing to fight Congress hard. But I'm not even sure about that.
At this point, nobody no candidate inspires much confidence for me.
Given the available selection of potential leaders, I'm inclined to pin my hopes on armed and determined American citizens who understand what's at stake here.
