If you listen to much Boortz you will figure out that he believes earning money is incredibly easy and that anybody ought to be able to afford any luxury they desire. He will tell you to invest in real estate first, clearly assuming that anybody listening has plenty of money lying around to do so. He will also tell you that paying for private school is just as easy as driving a slightly older car.
The bottom line is that Boortz believes anybody who doesn't have a 6-7 figure net worth is just too lazy to earn it. Each and every show that he does reflects that attitude.
I mostly agree with this statement...I generally have the decorum not to call people "Lazy". I think that I'd prefer "undisciplined". LOL!
Think about all of the time (and money) that you spend in front of the TV, or on vacations, or whatever. Heck, my basic cable bill is $60 a month (I know some that pay 125+)...investing that over a few years would really amount to something.
Then, taking that few hours of time spent channel-surfing every evening and using it for going back to school, or learning a trade, or learning about investing, and so on would pay dividends. Most (including myself) choose not to - If I had applied myself a little more in the past and sat in front of the boob tube a little less, it's very likely that I'd be looking much better financially, now.
I chose relaxation (now, I choose to spend time with the family) rather than career advancement, or education advancement, and so on. I'd love to have a 7-figure-income, but I was (and still am) unwilling to make the sacrifices required to get there. Does that make me lazy? I'd call it undisciplined. Irregardless, what I am is the result of the choices that I've made.
