Honestly? The same reason I care about other cultural issues. I care about students graduating from high school who can’t read their diplomas. I care about the push for homosexual marriages. I care about welfare queens sucking on the teat of the state. Etc, Etc. I don’t believe the state should allow smoking in public anymore than I believe they should allow homosexuals to marry. And it’s clear others share my views.
Wheee, honestly, here’s some simple but true advice. Lead by example and others will follow. It’s enough for myself keeping me in line. Love and trust your fellow citizens and realize that you can’t change the world. There’s a whole lot of good in the world/society than there is bad. :-)
Wheee, when you post Nazi signs with phone numbers to report your fellow citizens, I think that’s a little extreme. It’s not the Chritian way of treating each other. All the non-smokers had to do was politely ask, that’s all. Nevada passed a no smoking law last November, as I’m sure you’re aware of. They don’t have a “snitch line,” and guess what people are respectful and comply. Make it a point to see the good in the people and the world, and you’ll be much happier.
The government should outlaw McDonalds, too. It makes people fat.
