Tancredo Slams Senate Immigration Plan
Congressional Web Site ^ | May 17, '07 | Press Release

Posted on 05/17/2007 6:13:13 PM PDT by T.L.Sink

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo today criticized the Senate Immigration plan penned by Sens. McCain and Kennedy and President Bush. This plan, like its predecessor proposals, would provide instant amnesty for millions of illegal aliens and a pathway to citizenship. "Senator McCain and his allies seem to think they can dupe the American public into accepting a blanket amnesty if they just call it 'comprehensive' or 'earned legalization' or 'regularization." "The President is so desperate for a legacy and a domestic policy win that he's willing to sell out the American people and our national security." The plan would grant an immediate amnesty for nearly all 12-20 million illegal aliens who get legal status for residence and jobs; tripling the rate of chain migration of extended family... and of 400,000 temporary foreign workers each year, bringing their families and having anchor babies who will be given U.S. citizenship.

Aside from the economic, social, and cultural catastrophe this exacerbates, its failure to secure our borders is a clear national security danger. It also, as Rush stated today on his show, will probably guarantee minority status to the Republican Party for the foreseeable future. Wow! What a legacy!

This amnesty bill is sponsored by moron so-called conservatives who stayed home in 2006 and allowed the Republican Congress to disappear.

Also, the knife in the back of our troops was also brought to you by the so-called conservatives who decided to stay home in 2006.

There is nothing principled about crying about amnesty and then allowing it to happen.

I called my congressman, and the person I spoke with said “well, what can we do, you know Republicans are in the minority”.

How in the world can we have any hope when that is the way our party thinks? Talk about surrender monkeys.

I accept it and support it as presented.
I don't care what that dinosaur Tancredo thinks.

The Bush Legacy (Read my Lips Part 2)

1) Created new expensive entitlement program (Medicare Rx)
2) Uncontrolled government spending
3) Amnesty for Illegals

Also, the anti-illegal immigration movement needs a more effective leader than a mental patient like Tom Tancredo.

Are you illiterate?

Where would this bill stand if Republicans still controlled the House of Representatives?

....

I thought so.

Bush has been for this bill since 2000.

The Republican Senate has been for this bill since 2000.

The Republican House was against this bill and acted as a firewall.

Moron so-called conservatives stayed home in 2006 and punished conservatives in the House.

You are responsible for the amnesty bill.

You taught Republicans a lesson in 2006 by facilitating the amnesty bill that you so detested in the first place.

Morons.

i’m voting for Tancredo in the primaries ... don’t care if he is only polling in the single digits. The primaries are the opportunity to voice your opinion and not sell out.

I wonder if they can pass this bill in time for the Dems to get ‘em all voter registered...We,as a nation, have been sold out by both our major political parties.....

I’m through with the Republican Party..

I went out and hauled down my American Flag..We must be the laughing stock of the whole world....Our country has lost it’s soul, and stands for nothing now....

When the Demonrats get back in the white house...They will never have to relinquish it anymore because the Republicans have committed suicide.....
