I've liked him since I first took a serious look at him a few months back. I'm hoping his campaign can gain some more traction.

It can. His grassroots support is great and growing. I just turned two more people onto him this week as well. But send him a Grant or a Franklin, if you can.

Hunter needs to keep doing exactly what he’s been doing. Where he supports the President as in the war on terror and in Iraq, on tax cuts, abortion etc. he should continue to do so. Where he disagrees with the President as on the border issue he should say so loud and clear but in a civil, respectful way. Just as he has been doing.

Hi, Ex. If you are interested in helping, please contribute to Duncan Hunter’s campaign. He is his own man, he belongs to no big business. So we at the grassroots must do everything we can to get the word out in every way we can, and dig deeper to help him financially. We are really fighting for our country by doing this in this most crucial election.

If you call the campaign ask for brochures. Copy or forward any articles you find about him on the Internet to all your friends and family. I put in 12-14 hours a day doing this in SW Washington State. (Of course, I am retired, so I have plenty of time to do it.)

If your precinct has no officer, contact your Republican chairman and get appointed so you can attend caucuses and conventions on the local level. Gather friends to help - Compose a good letter about the man and his achievements and distribute it going door to door.

Make sure your Republican Headquarters has all the information you can glean about him. Order more bumper stickers and brochures. Leave them in a prominent place there. Ask Hunter’s headquarters if there is any organizing already under way in your state, and contact them to share ideas.

Well, that’s about it. Remember, it’s not only a case of if a man can win, it’s what a man is capable of doing when he wins. We need a matter of fact, tell it like it is, a successful record, an American patriot, not another Globalist. Globalists have brought us to where we now are.

This package will confirm to the world that the U.S. does not really mean what it says when it comes to immigration enforcement. As a result of the citizenship benefit included in this legislation, despite the fine print, we will see a stampede across our borders.

What if the criminal aliens, crooks, terrorists and narco-gangsters don’t want amnesty? Why should they? Wouldn’t they have to pay taxes? How can you force criminals to become citizens? Why would you? If these people really wanted to be real citizens they wouldn’t use phony ID’s.

NO AMNESTY for Employers or Employees!

“..I think Hunter is more of a valid “conservative” than Fred, but I think that Fred can win. ..”

If Duncan Hunter can win in the primaries, he can win in the general election - especially after the Dems make such a mess out of everything, as evidenced in this thread.

If you like Hunter best, please vote for him in the primaries, but if Fred enters the race and wins the primaries, we can always support Fred at that time.

But I think Duncan Hunter is going to pleasantly surprise us. More and more conservatives are discovering him.

You've got to read the Drudge headline right now...

It gives details how this 'behind the scenes' amnesty bill was worked on FOR MONTHS..behind the scenes,,OR better yet, behind our backs

.and then McCain got mad because one of the senators complained about it, and anyway....go read it.

It's what everyone suspected....

..they said they wouldn't pursue it, but they've been planning it all along.

If he's going to have a chance in this race, he's going to have to.

This is good opportunity for Hunter to show what he's made of.

Yes, I was. (Check my posts from around that time.) But I ALSO was resisting the prevailing “stay home to protest against the GOP” mentality that I saw here on FR. Were you?

I was spending time volunteering for a strong Republican candidate in a neighboring district because my district is a safe GOP seat and we didn't have a Senate race last year. The most important thing we can do is not to argue about these things on Free Republic during election season but to volunteer for real campaigns in our home areas.
