To: Alberta's Child

We’re in basic agreement on this one.

Although I did like the way Bush41 used overwhelming force to win the Gulf War. I know —— we didn’t go far enough for some. But that wasn’t the original objective. I think it was a smart move at the time. Historic hindsight is always 20/20.

Quite frankly, the U.S. had no compelling interest in the Middle East back then in the first place.

I knew my days as a Republican were over once I had so many so-called "conservative Republicans" telling me that the enforcement of United Nations mandates was a legitimate reason for the U.S. to launch a major military campaign halfway around the world.
