April, 15 2009 President Guiliani nominated former Gov Huckabee to the newly created position Immigration Tzar, he may also wear 2 hats, he is a shoe-in for Pardon Tzar. President Guiliani: I had to create this position becuase the comphensive immigration reform bill of 2007 has not legalized all the immigrants, I feel with Mike’s leadership we can “get’r done”

Fred would be a fine candidate. But lumpimg Duncan Hunter in as a “no one else” is folly.

Almost fully Frederalized, eh? Then pulling the all-nighter to transcribe the interview was worth it!It was. Thanks much for taking the time to perform such a valuable service.

Thompson would need to choose someone with experience as a governor, to shore up that hole in his resume. He does not have executive experience in government, which is really needed for the office of the presidency. Just my opinion.

MRL: I need you to get into this race fast, okay?
FDT: (laughs)
MRL: I’m gonna have another heart attack.
FDT: (laughs) What do you you consider fast?
MRL: Like, uh, one or two months?
FDT: (laughs) Well, we’ll talk about it.
Listening to this, the tone of Fred’s response sounded exactly like Mark nailed it, and Fred almost admitted that Mark’s announcement schedule was correct.

That’s what the administration says. But how many came across at the same time? My scenario is a NET loss of say, 1/2 million.

Right in both cases, but certainly not when (in 41’s case) he ran for president (he had been CIA director by then), and in Ford’s case, he was never elected veep-—he was appointed. My point is that to get through the primaries and prove you have support in many areas of the country, you need name recognition far, far beyond that which a congressman has. I can’t even think of too many in the 19th century. J.Q. Adams was in congress after he was Pres., and most of the other guys had at least served as governors.

I agree. In any other year, Jeb Bush would be a logical choice, but he won’t stand a chance. Maybe Owens of CO?
