This bill has the same provision for ag workers that was in Reid’s version. Contrary to the White House’s claim, amnestied ag workers will be eligible for welfare—after five years—and without a green card. All they will need to have is a Z visa.

As with the Reid bill, they get a discount on Z visas that no one is talking about. Their “fine” is not 1000 bucks. Its a hundred bucks. What a sweet deal ... come into the country illegally, pay a 100 buck fine, and collect benefits from the U.S. taxpayer.

I hate to tell you this but NOONE enforces the 5 yr thing now. Legal immigrants sign a form saying they will not apply for benefits for 5 yrs, it is not enforced either.

California has a special Social Security Disability program specifically for illegal aliens. Drag grandma across the border and sign her up!
This amnesty will be the largest increase to the welfare rolls you have evewr seen. Their anchor babies already qualify and receive all the benefits. How do you think they live on $1k a mnth and still send money home?

I haven’t found that part yet...where did you find that in the draft? Page?

My head is spinning..

...which may well be part of the plan. (and admittedly tin-foil moment)

AgJobs was written around a compromise negotiated by the growers and the union back in 2003. It is cast in stone and can’t be changed.
