If we ‘need’ any industry, then the market will pay the cost for it. We needed buggy whips for a long time. When we no longer needed them, the worker’s pay at the buggy whip manufacturers was probably considered way too high.
In my neck of the woods Ashley Furniture is pretty successful. Market forces are a bear.
After all we dont really need houses.
Proves my point exactly.

This industry has overbuilt - based on cheap mortgages (and probably an overabundance of cheap labor)
Wood gets too expensive... Steel is substituted... Now steel is expensive due to world wide demand.

Thank you, these will help.
Pres Bush is a mighty man of exceptional intellect to construct such a devious plan! Too bad for him you're on to his wiley ways... You better watch your six, he might employ some of Clinton's Mena thugs. Just sayin'.....
Thanks for the good advice.
Did anybody notice Nancy Pelosi let slip that one of her biggest priorities is to stop the war in Iraq. She moved on quickly with other blather. George Stephanopolous didn’t pursue it but she said it.
I have tried my best and so far have been able to continue to support GW(since I am sworn to do so anyway) but it is difficult considering what we all know and have read so many times here on FR concerning the immigration debacle.
But you are right it is always a better strategy to take the smartest path to getting what we want, and typically what is best for the country.
IMHO, currently that would be to supporting the strongest of candidates who want border and other security for the U.S. and have a winnable chance to become potus in 08.
For me that's Hunter or Thompson, maybe even Newt. Looks like I missed a darn good thread can't wait until Sunday.
Hmmmm...Bret Baier just reported on Fox News that in the first 3 months of this year...the media reported on the DEM POTUS candidates much more than the GOP Candidates.
61% to 24%!!!!!!
How about THAT for proof of bias??
Unfortunately, the same study said that Rush, Michael Savage..and one other conservative radio talk show host..whose name I didn’t catch ALSO discussed the dems more...oops
With the guidance of Txsleuth, I just may be able to get this done. From Sunday, May 20th, here is my list of the top 10 though 4 posters based on my known only to myself criteria :)
Top three to follow. Here we go...
10. saveliberty for the injection of lighthearted humor on a difficult news day at posts #318, 329 and 334.
