Can any conservative here understand that the majority of people in Massachusetts want gay marriage and no amount of whining about it from outsiders is going to change that? I thought conservatives were all about states rights?

that’s why it will go down in flames in a popular vote that the new Gov and the gay legislature is trying to prevent?

Polling reveals that between 40-50% of Massachusetts Voters back Gay Marriage. 15-25% Back Traditional Marriage, and the rest, 25-35%, back Civil Union rights. There is no gaurentee the Constitutional Amendment Referendum would pass in Massachusetts, but its not dead either. However, the Legislature is like 70% Pro-Gay Marriage, 15% Pro-Traditional Marriage, 15% Pro-Civil Unions. So I’d like to see it get held up even if it does pass.

It's part of the fantasyland that some conservatives like to live in. In their world, a strong majority of people agree with even their nuttier positions. In fact, in some parts of the country, a majority even disagree with some of their sound positions. I suspect there is a coco puff conservative fringe who talks a mean game about states rights, but if things aren't going their way, they would be fine with a legion of activist judges who see things their way.

Phony, through and through. Sickening, in fact.

That is an absolute falsehood. The politicians here are desperately working at keeping us from voting on the issue.

It is still a big deal here, but the media and the crooks over on Be-A-Con Hill simply are tying us up with legislative legerdemain.

It is quite frustrating to see the incessant lies being spewed out here regularly, that the matter is "settled" and such crap.

That was a long time ago, apparently. Just like privatization, it doesn't suit the current crop of aficionados.
