Unfortunately, I apparently lost my mind for a few years and voted for Carter.

I drifted away from my faith in the Lord and also drifted into liberalism. It's no coincidence. I eventually found my way back to the Lord and am now a political conservative. I'm happy where I'm currently at!

Relevant quote for this thread:

Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart.
Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains.
-Winston Churchill

BTW, these are Churchill's words and describe my journey. This is not meant as a slam towards young people who are conservatives, you have your heads on straight (unlike myself in those days)!

"I remember very vividly looking around the news room - big urban news room with about 200 editorial employees - and I was kind of pondering what it was that made me see the world so differently than all of my friends and colleagues in the newsroom and it clicked one day when - I was pretty sure, knowing all of these things as well as I did, that I was the only one who went to church on Sunday," said Farah.

Religious worship ranks right behind family in importance to many (most?) conservatives while theaters function as a church to many (most?) socialists.

Does anyone know Farrah’s religion?

Sometimes I feel that WND doesn’t like Catholics, but maybe he is just giving criticism to CINOs.

Starting 10 years ago...

...I thoroughly enjoyed listening to JOSEPH FARAH being interviewed often on Salem Broadcasting’s ‘DUFFY & CO’ Christian Talk Radio Show =

Political & Spiritual CLARITY

Hosts WARREN DUFFEY and his wife TERRY were also political turn-arounds who demonstrated against the Vietnam War. WARREN in front of the Pentagon, TERRY in front of our Embassy in London, England (Organized in England by BILL CLINTON, paid for by the Communist Soviet Union)

As they matured the DUFFEYs later on saw the error of their ways when hit with some real CLARITY on this Issue. Didn’t hurt, I reakon to have some calls come into them from Vietnam Veterans who had fought for the Freedom of others in Vietnam?

The DUFFEYs were both very kind to us on the air and off.

Sounds a lot like me. Originally a libertarian (in college) my conversion to conservatism came with living and traveling abroad...and with Reagan a bit later. When I think of the Liberal scum I voted for at one time I want to literally puke...people like Cuomo, Mondale, but by the time Dukakis ran, I was a budding conservative. Then Rush clarified and refined my opinions.

For me it wasn't about getting older..it was about getting wiser with experience especially abroad.
