I understand how this can happen and how we grow wiser as we grow older. At 16, I worked for Goldwater’s campaign. Unfortunately, I apparently lost my mind for a few years and voted for Carter.

My first vote was to unseat Carter.

My first vote was for Richard Nixon.
I did vote for Democrat Bob Casey for Governor once, when he ran against abortion enthusiast Barbara Hafer.

Unfortunately, I apparently lost my mind for a few years and voted for Carter.

I drifted away from my faith in the Lord and also drifted into liberalism. It's no coincidence. I eventually found my way back to the Lord and am now a political conservative. I'm happy where I'm currently at!

Relevant quote for this thread:

Show me a young Conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart.
Show me an old Liberal and I'll show you someone with no brains.
-Winston Churchill

BTW, these are Churchill's words and describe my journey. This is not meant as a slam towards young people who are conservatives, you have your heads on straight (unlike myself in those days)!
