Senator Jeff Sessions' office tell me he has reserved three hours of floor time to talk about the proposed bill, beginning around 1:30 p.m. today.

The President says we need “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”

Besides not enforcing the laws we have, what needs to be change?

If we can monitor 25 million new immigrants, how come we cannot deport 12?

I'm trying to find out just why we need new laws when we aren't enforcing the old ones.

And no matter what the provisions are in any legislation passed that make the bill NOT amnesty...for those that remember the 1986 legislation...it will be amnesty.

God Bless Jess Sessions and keep him safe.

He needs our help..

I just telephoned my senator (Mary Landrieu) and expressed my outrage at this bill. The staffer informed me that the phones have been ringing off of the walls for the past four days, and that sentiment was overwhelmingly against the bill.

Now, I know that my senator is a full fledged democrat, but the tides are changing in Louisiana.

Jindal will be our next governor.

Mary’s seat is anything but secure. Hope she gets the message (though it won’t be the first time she votes against her constituants if this should occur).

Call! Call! Call!

Thanks for starting this thread...I’ve got to run errands so I can be back in time for the debate to begin...I’ll be watching this very closely, but am hoping that there aren’t even enough favorable votes for allowing discussion to begin!

Hopefully, our D.C. leadership HAVE been listening to all the calls, letters and faxes from the majority of Americans who do NOT want anything close to this bill being passed!! If we can get it stopped then WE must get IN THEIR FACES and in the faces of the OBL MEDIA....to Secure the Borders and Enforce the Current Immigration Laws...how?...go to www.lframerica.com...where protest marches have been planned, for next month’s Flag Day weekend in D.C. and state capitols nationwide! Check out the list of participants and speakers!

The government has not been able to handle the past immigration problems with any success. Now a bigger more complicated system is about to be made law. Considering the resources required to manage it, there is no way that that it will do any better. In fact it will be a 100% give away of citizenship to our country. This is amnesty with lots of money.

They will drone on for more than an hour at “morning business,” which means things like declarations of Naional Pickle Week (I am not making this up) and other drivel. Note that in the U.S. Senate “morning” begins at noon! No big surprise considering their usual work week is Tuesday morning until Thursday afternoon, so they can spend the rest of their time flying all over the country using up carbon credits while trying raise money to run for re-election. I read somewhere McCain hasn’t made a roll call vote in five weeks.

Exactly. The thinking is that we cannot possibly find & deport 12 million, so we'll give they legal status. Soooooo, how then do we ensure they follow the new "laws"?

Good bye America, I hardly knew ye.

When is the vote scheduled to decide to waive the rules and take up the bill? Or have they already done that?

The last 10 senators offices that I have called have said,

“the senator is against amnesty but he hasn’t had a chance to read through the bill yet”.

HUH? I would think the first 10 pages and seeing Kennedy and Martinez yuckin it up would be all I’d need to see. Are they so stupid?
