One big thing I admired about Ronald Reagan was that he was someone who told you where he stood. He stood for things that weren’t always popular, but you knew he was a strong conservative. He thought conservatism was good, and tried to persuade people to his point of view.

Contrast someone like Reagan , who stood for certain principles and was willing to talk about same, with someone like Hillary Clinton. Does Hillary have core values of any kind? Is everything she says focus group tested sound bites?

Reagan thought conservatism was good and tried to persuade people. Does Hillary think liberalism is good? If so, why doesn’t she try to persuade us that liberalism has been good for our country? 40+ years of liberalism has given us a lot of time to see the results of their policies.

You’ll find pieces of this speech were from the Gipper’s days at General Electric. I just finished reading “The Education of Ronald Reagan,” subtitled, The General Electric Years by Thomas W. Evans. Its a pretty good read.
