I’m not advocating any sort of govt. action; merely noting that there are real reasons why most people don’t live like that. Usually when I read about something like that, it involves something which costs taxpayers money. When a whole society does that, you’re usually in a “palestinian” “refugee camp” or in the Albanian infested side of Kosovo.

The "real reason" is that in Western culture, kids are an inconvenience. It stifles the career, a nice figure, expensive clothes, SUV's, the 4,000 square foot home, fancy vacations, etc.

How many professional couples have nannies who spend more time with their kids than the parents do?

I would've loved to have more children, but couldn't.
