Of the 15 or so people running for president, exactly one is for less government. That is the one I am voting for. Everyone else can claim to be conservative all they want, but I’m not buying it.

You think that if Duncan Hunter were president that less money would be spent then the prior year? When I mean less government, I don’t mean cutting the rate of growth. I mean actually less money going out the door than before.

I think they have 2 or 3 members. They probably make their living producing white flags for Ron Paul to wave.

To be clear, Hunter voted for the 2003 Medicare boondoggle, perhaps the most expensive piece of legislation of all time. He is not for less government. He is for perhaps growing it slower than the dems, except for when he feels the need to vote for a boondoggle like medicare becasue he thinks it is good politics.

My question was in regards to this statement:
Everyone else can claim to be conservative all they want, but Im not buying it.
Now is Hunter a conservative to you? Or do you define a conservative solely on spending?

Now is Hunter a conservative to you? Or do you define a conservative solely on spending? I don't define it solely on that, but it is a neccessary requrement. The modern conservative movement was built on the premise that money is better off in the hands of individuals than the government, etc. etc. Anyone who doesn't believe that is not a conservative.
