Heh heh...I think Mr. Clancy put a similar scenario into one of his books...might have been the Indian Navy blocking us, though.

Persian Gulf - Nine U.S. warships enter Gulf for trainingtrain ... 7. To aim or point at as an object; to bring to bear; as, to train guns on the enemy, or a telescope on a star. Websters II.

Beating the crap out of Iran should be good training for a real war.

That’s the first thing that came to my mind. “Go ahead, try something......please! But, not really. I would hate for something bad to happen to our guys.

Nine ships? My....my......the one's that can be seen.
Reporters wouldn't know a Battle Group if it ran 'em over.

The important question here is, "What does Jimmy Carter think about this?"

Is it just me imagining things, or are there forces building up in the Gulf that are somewhat beyond the “surge” troops on the ground?

Moved “into” the PG for training???
Dude (author of the article)...When we went in, back in the day...It wasn’t for training...
You were either ready, or you stayed out of there...
I would say something that I know from experience, but like it says right below the posting box here...

Yeah, and Jack Ryan, the new president by default, told the Indian PM that if her ships didn’t turn away from the fleet in, I think, 1 hour, he was going to put it on the bottom of the ocean... The Indian fleet turned around within a few minutes...
There was also an undeclared war with Japan & Saddam was acting up at the same time as well... Can’t remember which book, but it was interesting.
