...At least nine U.S. service members were killed in combat and by bombs across Iraq on Tuesday and six were wounded, the U.S. military said Wednesday.
During May, 81 U.S. military personnel have died, bringing the total since the war began to 3,432, including seven civilian employees of the Defense Department.

I think W has the attitude that the little people don’t need to be informed. It’s evident in the illegal immigration issue, too.
Prayers for their families.
God Bless Them All.
I just googled news for “traffic deaths” and stopped counting after 20 reports of convictions for causing traffic deaths reported in yesterday’s and today’s news.
We are killing a lot more people with our cars than the terrorists are killing our troops in Iraq.
And pray for the 781 Americans who died on one date, November 30, 1950, because they fought in a war which was started to re-win S. Korea's freedom.
Those 1402 brave Americans died on 2 days in a war that would not have taken place, if Truman hadn't pulled our troops out of South Korea in 1949.
Because our troops had pulled out of South Korea, the North Korean army of Kim il-Sung invaded and occupied most of S. Korea in 1950.
Truman sent our troops back in 1950, and by the time Truman stepped down from office, 30,000 Americans had died in Korea in 30 months.
The Iraq war is a lot like the Korean War, except, in 2007,
Thank heavens the newsreaders don't have to read 781 names of members of the military who died in one day!
Can you imagine the announcers doing that during one evening report in 1950?
Gosh, in the last 2 months of 1950 115 Americans who were 17 or younger died because we needed to re-win freedom for S. Korea
On average, a bad month in Iraq would have been a good month in Korea
Number of US deaths, month by month (approx. 45 mos)

It's not even close to Korean War death rates.
We averaged 1000 deaths per month, i.e., 33+ deaths per day, while Truman was president during the Korean War.
Interestingly enough to folks who are watching the discussions about abandoning Iraq, the Korean War was started because Truman had abandoned the newly freed South Korea in 1949.
He was advised that South Korea, (which had been free for only 4 years like Iraq) would be ripe for invasion, but his administration pulled out our troops, anyway, in 1949.
The Democrats have already goofed twice, by suggesting we could pull our troops out of vulnerable countries with little repercussion.
Democrats are stuck on stupid.
Also important to note 57 years later , the United States is held in contempt by South Korea even as we spend more on their security than they are willing to spend themselves.
The ruling Uri Party is vociferously anti-American, anti-business and supports unconditional aid to North Korea, North Korea's right to obtain nuclear weapons and seeks alignment with China.
Also important to note...
Sometimes those whiners become more dangerous, as when they get into positions of power.
We should not give up because of some loudmouths.
This is war and people get killed. We are taking it to the enemy and there are going to be more deaths before it is over. In Nam we would have 100 death days.
Pray for W and Our Brave Heroes
