Oh ye of little faith......The story was dated 5/23, give ‘em time, they will be on it like flies on s**t before you know it. But the criticism is more likely to come from the other side. Count on it. Reading the headline, I first thought it was my eyes and mind coupled with the fact that my morning coffee had not kicked in. LOL.
It has been my experiance that cop critics are rare here at FR. Since reading the story I am now compelled to go see what the DUmmies are going to say about it. Now THERE you will find cop critics aplenty. I’ll get back to you on that.
It's interesting how carefully the newspapers have avoided the usual "undocumented" descriptive.
While I guess it is technically possible that he is a legal immigrant, it seems highly unlikely.

Every time another MEXCRIM commits a crime in this area, the media reports him as a resident of whatever town he happened to be driving thru last on his way to commit his next crime.

Lora was trying to do the right thing - i.e. get a dangerous drunk off the road and stop him from possibly killing innocent people.

No, there is a large group that think cops can do no wrong, a good sized, but probably smaller group that thinks that cops are always wrong, and the rest of us, many who now avoid these threads, that know that cops can sometimes be good and sometimes be bad.

He is quite the "uniter" in his death: he was ethnically black but he also spoke Spanish as his primary language, so both the African-American and Hispanic "community activists" are having a field day.
You wouldn't have gotten the full Reverend Al treatment if the deceased was a Mexican without African ancestry.
I'm one who has cited police misadventures - because they happen. Neither police nor the legal system in general are without fault in all cases and you only need to be on the wrong end one time.
That said, no one here that I'm aware of is not supportive of the police 99% of the time and I doubt you'll see anyone on FR doing anything but support officer Lora.

However, I was appalled by the vicious posts about NYC police that were all over the threads discussing the Sean Bell shooting.

Oh, don’t worry they will. But they’ll pass up calling the deaths of those two out west a hate crime. Sharpton will try to make this out as a cop hate crime against blacks. Bloomberg will most likely assist in the hanging.
This is why I would never encourage anyone to be a cop nowadays. Notice how all these immigrants and illegals always have a group of vocal supporters?
Anyone else gets involved in a criminal matter, and the only supporters you'll have is maybe your wife and kids.
The network of "supporters" for immigrants and illegal aliens is just amazing.
Conversely, I call upon liberal assclown activists to be disciplined and criminally charged for the death of common sense, followed by a speedy execution.

There are thousands of illegal immigrants in the Bronx as well as thousands of citizens in the Bronx who just hate the police, period.
It's very easy to get various "community activists" and crowds to protest a police shooting. It's something to do, and you might see yourself on TV!

They have his live-in girlfriend on the local news screaming out a poorly-memorized English script that she's been rehearsed in by her attorney.
And it goes a-little something like this: "I am destroyed by this ! Destroyed! Fermin was my life . . . emotionally . . . spiritually . . . I will never be all right again! I need justice! Where is justice?"
I thought the best part was when she collapsed on cue for the camera but they didn't catch it in frame, so she got up, looked around, and collapsed again.

Are you kidding? Those paying attention have noticed most every time an illegal is involved in an incident near the border, or most anywhere else in this country, the entire Mexican government, and massive networks of Mexican organizations in this country jump on the support wagon.
And I am not just taking about hating the police or police shootings. I am talking about pursuits and most every crime involving immigrants and illegals. There are countless incidents where these support networks come out of the woodwork for these people.
