Wolfowitz and Gal Pal Split Up
New York Post ^ | May 23, 2007 | Richard Johnson

PAUL Wolfowitz has really had a bad couple of weeks. He not only lost his job, he lost his girlfriend, too.

Wolfowitz, one of the architects of the Iraq war, was pushed out as president of the World Bank over a controversial pay and promotion package he arranged for his brunette girlfriend, Shaha Ali Riza. Sources say Riza, a brilliant feminist with a promising diplomatic career, was upset by all the publicity and the implication that she was getting ahead with the help of a powerful man. "She was furious about the embarrassment," said one source.

Last week, Wolfowitz bowed to mounting pressure over the cronyism scandal, agreeing to step down June 30. The announcement came nine months after Page Six first revealed how he'd ruffled the feathers of World Bank employees by dating, and then promoting, the Tunisian divorcée, who managed the bank's External Relations and Outreach for the Middle East and North Africa Region.

After Wolfowitz joined the World Bank, Ali Riza was first transferred to a joint World Bank/U.S. Agency for International Development multinational investment project, and then to work on the bank's South American interests.

"Apparently she never asked for a promotion and liked her old job," our source said.

>I'll bet SHE has coke-bottom eye glasses, wears no nail polish, and hides her webbed toes with men's Birkenstocks

Wolfowitz married Clare Selgin in 1968. But they have lived separately since 2001, after allegations of an affair with an employee at the School of Advanced International Studies where he was dean for seven years.

According to one Republican Administration insider, Clare was so upset by rumours about the affair that she wrote to then President Elect Bush, saying if the story were true it could pose a national security risk.

Yesterday, she refused to comment on whether her husband had been unfaithful before their separation, saying: "I really do not want to share this with you."

She also refused to confirm her marital status - reports of his appointment repeatedly describe Wolfowitz as divorced but The Mail on Sunday has been unable to find any records. Asked if she is separated or divorced, Clare replied: "That's my business."

On the claim that she wrote a letter to Bush, she said: "That's very interesting but not something I can tell you about."

Will a British divorcee cost 'Wolfie' his job?

Apparently, Wolfowitz wasn’t quite politically savvy enough to sidestep the landmine.

"Whats the term for a man that knew he was going to be set up, allowed it to happen, then got fired?"

I'll bet his 'severence package' is larger than your entire retirement portfolio.

This is supposed to be Claire Wolfowitz. She is about a million times better looking than Shaha "Rosa Klebb" Ali Riza.

To: All; you; jerk

I really don’t know the whole story...

The rest that is being spoken about is the imaginations of all us.

So as usual we engage in gossips and backbiting on a snip from a viper source.

Where are those minds of people I grew up with that were very careful in how they release information.

As I recall many had originally despised Wolfowitz and were out to get him for any reason!

I have asked in the past what is a NeoCon I know now some it is a code word for someone who is Jewish!

I wish FR had a higher class of posters but that is not the case many here are throw backs of those kind that when I was growing up is composed of rowdy low lives fools!

‘I’ll bet his ‘severence package’ is larger than your entire retirement portfolio.’

Hmmmmm. Given the excesses the World Bank visits upon its employees, that might be true...probably so.

Then again, ‘I’m eatin’’....(chuckle)

Besides he was uber wealthy long before, so what difference does it make? Money at that level isn’t nearly as important as prestige, and Wolfie’s running low in that department these days.

--------------------------------------------------------------

When they turn the pages of history
When these days have passed long ago
Will they read of us with sadness
For the seeds that we let grow?
We turned our gaze
From the castles in the distance
Eyes cast down
On the path of least resistance

Cities full of hatred, fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and
Scoffing at the wise

The hypocrites are slandering
The sacred Halls of Truth
Ancient nobles showering
Their bitterness on youth
Can't we find the minds that made us strong?
Can't we learn to feel what's right
And what's wrong?
What's wrong?

Cities full of hatred, fear and lies
Withered hearts and cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude and
Scoffing at the wise
Can't we raise our eyes and make a start?
Can't we find the minds to lead us
Closer to the heart?

And the men who hold high places
Must be the ones who start
To mold a new reality
Closer to the heart

The blacksmith and the artist
Reflect it in their art
They forge their creativity
Closer to the heart

Philosophers and ploughmen
Each must know his part
To sow a new mentality
Closer to the heart

Closer to the heart

You can be the captain
I will draw the chart
Sailing into destiny
Closer to the heart

Closer to the heart!

Hey, that’s good! I am somewhat(into the CW), but I suspect we have different perspectives. Personally, I think your Congressman Vanlandingham(possible misspelling) was a pretty good guy.

His great granddaughter was a slut....(chuckle)

And yes, I do know that from personal experience back in my youth.

I haven't seen it,
but I think Fred would put down
Wolfie with one punch.

(That would spark to life
Fred's campaign, too! A little
UFC action!)
