A military coup will get that fat old communist in the ground where he belongs.

The country can’t do worse. An up and coming general could reverse things simply by undoing the insanity of Mugabe’s “land reforms”.

Getting even 15 per cent of the farms back up and running would turn things around in about a year or two.

It will be interesting. Hardships for all, but I don’t think it can get much worse. Will a bloodbath happen? I won’t hazard a guess on it.

I should think if Mugabe goes, SA might be inclinded to help out a bit more.

What’s your take?

Last I heard SA wants to go down the same road as Zim, but Mugerbe's complete failures are slowing down that effort in SA.

How many of the white farmers will come back?
Answer: None, if they are smart.

Honestly, what makes a country a prosperous nation? It's the work ethic of the people and a government that enables the people to shine and prosper.

If a military General took over, it would be worse. He would take food to feed his men, raping and pillaging is inevitable.

There is a deeper problem; the ugly truth is the indigenous people do not know how to run a country. They do not know how to run a farm. The youth are filled with hatred towards the whites and only know how to blame and take.

We hear in America are blessed with a culture that values hard work and personal property. We value freedom and liberty. Even though these institutions are threatened daily, and we don’t always get along, they still exist. This long standing tradition was fostered in our colonial infancy and spread out across the fruited plain as we expanded.

There was no room for the Indians in our culture, we displaced the well.

Zimbabwe, when it was Rhodesia, was an extremely prosperous colony and a budding nation, despite stiff sanctions during the war in the 70’s. Western guilt forced the European government to hand over the right to rule to the natives blacks. This happened long before they were ready to assume the power. It would be akin to passing the authority to govern to the Indians after the American war of Independence.

The result is what you see, a wholly dysfunctional government, ruled by a people who do not have the cultural heritage required to run a prosperous nation.
