You just have to see this to believe it, so here's a screen shot. It's from the Web site of Amnesty International USA, a group we thought wanted to be taken seriously:

Well, it’s still up, and I voted for Darth Vader. Here’s the results:

Who’s got the worst human rights record?
Poll results:

65% Darth Vader
18% The Hobgoblin
17% Dick Cheney

Doesn’t seem to be working too well for them, does it.

So wrong... Darth Vader was not responsible for the destruction of Alderaan. That was the work of Grand Moff Tarkin. In fact, Vader himself advised Tarkin NOT to destroy Alderaan. I would dare say the only innocents Vader killed were the children in the Jedi temple. Aside from that, he only killed people who pissed him off directly.

I don't know what is more shameful, the fact that I know this from memory, or the fact that the terrorist front group Amnesty International is giving Darth Vader a bad name.

Notice how all the lefty whacko groups are coming out of their closets and proving who they have been all along. Nothing but shill groups for leftists masquerading as a neutral group. BDS apparently does that to you.

What do we expect? Asshats International is a charter member of the “Blame America First” crowd. But their communist friends are “O. K.”!

AI was founded many years ago as a public campaign to protect “prisoners of conscience” around the world, whatever their political beliefs..... i.e., in the original and noble conception, AI was all about opposing the worst dictatorships which imprisoned people solely due to their political beliefs.

Unfortunately, AI has long since been taken over by raving far-left moonbats who did not find that original, noble mission sufficiently sexy, and like many so-called “non-profit” NGOs they long ago decided that they prefer life as a dishonest far-left moonbat entity to life as an honest, objective, non-partisan type of group.

Moral: no one in the MSM or public or Govt. should take AI seriously or pay any attention to their ranting pronouncements. They are merely to the left of Dennis Kucinich.

I must say I agree with you that Tarkin was ultimately responsible for Alderaan, but I don't remember Vader trying to talk him out of it.

Notice they had to use fictional characters to compare to Cheney because if they used real despots it wouldn’t work out too well for them.

With all due respect, are any of the characters of star wars actually human beings?

Granted, they may look human, but considering their life spans and other factors, we do not know their biology, so its possible that Vader never actualy hurt a single human beings, just human like groups.

Its a technicality, and a stupid one, but this whole thing with amnesty international is so dumb, there is no point in ever going through the merits of justifying it as serious.

Good memory, you have.

Vader isn't all bad. "There's still good in him."

And Amnesty International just lost ALL credibility.

Is this an organization that takes itself seriously and expects other adults to take it seriously? Or is it some leftist, looneytoon group of juveniles?

From their website:

All joking aside, the U.S. government, once perceived as a beacon of hope and justice, no longer leads the world on human rights.

Okay... so who does? Notice they NEVER answer that question?

The continuing allegations of U.S. torture, use of secret prisons, ghost detainees, and indefinite and unconstitutional detention at Guantanamo calls into question the U.S. commitment to fight torture and adhere to international law.

Continuing allegations. Well, I allege that AI is a group of large, furry plantlike aliens. I will continue to allege that. Allegations don't mean squat.
