No one makes us drive.

Disagree. Those of us who are not retired have to drive to work. There is no choice. Those with means could move across the street from their jobs, but not everyone can. And even if everyone could, there's not enough space in urban areas to hold the entire population. Our country is very spread out, and driving is an absolute necessity in many if not most areas.
