IWIC 2007 Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season Forecast By Rob Mann and Jason Moreland ABSTRACT
As of May 25, 2007
Data obtained throughout the past several months indicates that 2007 Atlantic Basin hurricane activity will be somewhat above the long-term average, with an estimated 13 named storms, 8 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes. An abnormally high number of tropical cyclones will form east of the Lesser Antilles during the bimonthly period of August and September, with at least one significant hurricane striking the northeast Caribbean. The Yucatán Peninsula also faces a high risk of a major hurricane strike during the final third of the season. No tropical cyclone landfalls are expected along the United States mainland.

Never heard of the authors in my life, and nowhere do they state their qualifications.
Weather on the internet is filled with random people slapping up webpages and calling themselves "centers."
Ruh, roh. They have a Drudge Siren on their home page!

Hey nice to meet you :-) Speaking as one of the authors...it is perfectly understandable that you have never heard of us, as we are still students aiming to one day become meteorologists. However, no where on the site do we claim to have qualifications. In fact it is stated within the introduction and the disclaimer that it’s an unofficial forecast. One should ALWAYS use official sources during critical situations.

If that’s how you perceive this site then that’s your choice. But I would disagree with that particular choice of wording, given how much time we spend mainting the site and making these forecasts.
Best regards.
Also for those interested, I believe Dr. Gray and Klotzbach update their activity forecast and landfall probabilities on May 31.
